Los Angeles

My dad, brother, and I took a little boy's trip out to California to see my Grandfather and help him get some things packed up and cleaned up. He is still in good health although he can no longer see much of anything. He decided to give my dad most of his wood working tools so our trip was to crate some things up. It has been probably 15 years since I've been out here so it was a good chance to catch up. It's always a bit hard for me to be away from my comfort zone and my wife, but I'm managing.

I'll get into more depth at a later time but for now let me give you some of the highlights.
- Laguna Beach is beautiful and not busy at all
- Gas station attendants apparently make more than me since they drive Lexus's
- My kid will never have a temper tantrum like what I saw out here... never
- Date Shakes really arent as good as they are made out (yes fruit date, not social date)
- I have eaten out more times in 4 days than I have all year
- First class is the way to fly... I had an omellette for breakfast, tons of movies, live TV, and a glass glass to drink from
- Flying west really messes with my sleep
- I hope my G'pa doesnt wear this pineapple shirt for a 5th day in a row
- Mexicans hang out on the side of the road trying to get work and have no qualms about standing in front of the 'Hiring illegals is a Federal Offense' sign
- I'm almost 30 and the lady next door still tried to give me $5 for trimming her bushes
- I dont understand the farm breakfast (a hamburger and waffles, or pork chops and eggs) I just wanted fruit and coffee
- You think there are a lot of Starbucks on every corner in Fla? How about 2 per shopping center

I'm sure there's more but thats all for now. Next post I'm sure I'll tell you how LAX is a nasty god-forsaken place.
