Sunday morning a group of us (Fox, Holbrooks, Bernie, and Janet) took a trip out to the family organic blueberry farm to pick some free blueberries. This 100+ acre farm is set in the middle of, well not quite the ghetto, a lower income residential neighborhood. As it turns out there are apparently a few people who know its unoccupied most of the time so they have started their own greenhouses, gardens and put their own locks on the gate to allow themselves access to the property. We must have passed 5 different people who obviously weren't supposed to be there. Rather than get into it with why they were there we decided to pick and have a good time and get them in trouble later. We managed to find a section of rows about halfway back on the property which had some pretty good blueberries on them. We all picked for about and hour or two and had enough in our buckets and bellies to call it quitting time. The brush was a bit thick and you could tell other than the locals who were also running apiary boxes on the property, no one had done any work at all. As we left I decided to make everyone still inside the farm's day interesting by locking them in. I figured at least maybe they would get the idea. Bossman goes out today to put a stop to it all.... again. At least we got a bunch of awesome blueberries!
Unfortunately no pictures... the battery for the camera was still in the charger at home... oops. Only a little over a week until the UK. I am so ready for a little time away. I'm over obsessing about where to go and making sure I read enough, etc. We are just going to wing this trip except for the beginning and end. The tentative itinerary looks to be London, Suffolk, York, Lake District, Edinburgh, and Scottish Highlands. I will try to stay up to date each day on blogs, internet permitting.
