Lunar Eclipse

As I'm sure most people don't know, we had a lunar eclipse last night at about 9pm. That was the last one for us until 2010. Unfortunately, even though this eclipse was the right time of the night so I didn't have to stay up so late like last time, the darn clouds were relentless. As I was driving home from work last night at about 7:30pm I thought it would be perfect because the moon was shining bright and no cloud cover. I did snap a couple pictures from my roof. Sorry one is a little blurry but I was playing with different settings on the camera.

I suppose this doesn't really interest many of you the way it does myself. Foxy and I are trying to become a little more in tune with the world around us these days, including gardening biodynamically. If you dont want to do a bunch of reading just know biodynamics is basically composting, fertilizing, sowing, and harvesting in tune with the phases of the moon as well as using materials from your own land for compost. Nothing synthetic or harmful to the earth. It is an interesting study that has been in practice for hundreds of years. We Americans think we are revolutionary with our trend toward "organic". Pssssht. We are still waaaaaaaaay behind the times and ignorant about what we are doing to ourselves and our planet. Think of all the paper and plastic bags we use to haul those organics back home. What do we do with those bags afterward? Take them to be recycled? Do you know how they recycle them? Thats just one thing we consume. Just because you give your trash, recycling, or yard waste to the trash guy, doesn't mean it disappears or everything is now ok. Please think not only of "being green" but also think about what you put in your body, where it really came from and what process it went through to get there. Still want to consume some of the things you do?

Sorry I got a bit off topic. Didnt mean for the lecture. It is just something that has become eye opening and important to us both so I feel we should make a stand and make others aware. Its a humbling lifestyle change.
