I have been fighting for a while with our warehouse guys to send me over the remaining wine bookshelves. Its just what it sounds like, a bookshelf shaped cabinet that houses wine. They were supposed to go to another store, who had 10 already, like they needed more. So I convinced them to send them my way so I can make an attempt at doing something with my..... "dated".... store. Of course that just means more work for me. All day long, moving wine, cabinets, racks, and then all the usual stuff like distributors, customers, that damn phone, and getting ready for a tasting at the store. Maybe I can finish by the end of the week... maybe.
On a positive note, look how pretty sunrise was the other morning when that second crazy nor'easter came through and dumped 9 inches of rain in a day. For some reason sink holes are starting to appear around town. Imagine that.

Burn baby burn
My childhood ant burning memory came rushing back this weekend. Fox and I spent a few hours Sunday outside trying to trim bushes, cut up the tree that fell, etc. We were in the front yard and noticed all these caterpillars on the tree branch. The whole caterpillar town must have come together for a meeting or something. Being a gardener I understand the importance of getting rid of these guys. Nothing worse than working all year to grow a crop and have these buggers eat it in a day. BTW, butterflies are not good and cute.... they are deadly. I took it into my own hands and followed the teachings of Rudolf Steiner and decided biodynamics was the best way to settle it. Its a long read and definately intense. Basically the story goes in order to keep the mice/rats out of their vineyards, they burned them and spread the ashes I guess so the mice/rat gods will know to lead their flock to someone else's vineyard. Hey, couldnt hurt right?
