I've been dreading going to get my car fixed for a while now. My driver side window would only sometimes roll down. When you tapped the door panel just right, you could get it to jerkily go down. Now getting it back up proved a bit more difficult. I finally sucked it up Monday morning and dropped it off for an oil change and to have them check the window.
Window motor is bad, need to replace it. No problem except its $500. Eh, its the price you pay I guess. Well a few hours later I get the call that its worse. Some other window part is bad and made the motor go out so that needs to be replaced too. Only another $100, why not.... Except they dont have the part. No need to worry, they will overnight it.
I was assured it would be on the 6am truck and be in my car and ready to go by 9am in time for me to go to work. I get dropped off at 8am, check in with the guy who assures me my car is already on the lift being worked on. Great, I'll sit back and watch the movie playing in the lobby. 45 minutes roll around and the guy comes to tell me the part in fact was not on the truck and it must be on the UPS truck which should arrive shortly.
Yes this is after he told me it was already being put in. He's sorry, blah blah, and wants to know what I want to do. I want him to take me to and from work now that I have no transportation since I was assured everything was ok and I didn't get a call saying the part didn't make the truck. So another day goes by where I'm just left at the mercy of idiots. I keep wondering why I go back. I think its fear of the unknown. I know there are worse mechanics out there. At least they do good work.
As if Tuesday's weren't going to be aggravating enough already.... *sigh*... here we go.
